Richmond Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification and Training
Contact Us
Lean Six Sigma Curriculum for Richmond High School Students of Virginia assists professionals and students in getting started with this methodology. We want them to be successful in their yellow belt training and certification since it is different to receive certifications from a company that is internationally recognized than some experts who don’t issue certifications. This belt gives professionals and students the opportunity to move up and pursue higher levels of work, which can lead to more opportunities and benefits.
The training does not only allow you to reach higher levels but also has many benefits all by itself:
- There are more job opportunities in many industries and companies.
- Learn more about collaboration.
- There are many leadership roles available for you as a practitioner.
- Increase productivity and efficiency.
- Continuous improvement is key to your business, personal, and professional goals.
- Teach other students and business professionals the same technique, but only at your level.
Before we dive into the details and discuss whether a Yellow Belt is right for you, let us first define what a belt actually is.
Lean 6 Sigma uses belts rather than just “level” to identify the scale of how the training or parts of becoming a real expert goes. A belt is a combination of color and a word, and it will be a sign that you have reached a certain level.
Different companies and people use different colors and schemes for determining the starting and lower levels of the method. Following this, many people prefer to start with the white belt, which is considered an introductory level, but it is not the highest level of international standards, although it exists.
The yellow belt is a great place to start. It can be beneficial for both students and professionals, so besides learning the ways of LSS, they can also participate in projects right after they finish, based on the small roles that they have been prepared for.
The basics of Yellow Belt training will be taught to you. This training will help you participate in projects and increase your career potential, and the best part is that it takes about the same time as a white belt. Companies will be more likely to hire you than someone who was trained in the white belt without any practical knowledge or experience in the methodology.
What Is the Yellow Belt Training Outline?
Keep in mind, though, that only those who are properly trained in Sigma should be offered training. Not just at the yellow belt level but much higher levels as well since certification will be needed and all international standards must have been followed in order to achieve the desired results.
Not all certifications are issued by every company. You might find that some certificates are more valuable than others or that you wasted your time dealing with companies that can’t provide one that proves you have followed the methodology.
Our certifications at Lean Six Sigma Curriculum Pros of Richmond, on the other hand, are recognized internationally.
A yellow belt is usually completed in one to two weeks, depending on how much online training you have had and whether or not you can attend classes in person. It all depends on the option you choose and how much time you devote to this training, depending on your availability.
Professionals and students can both take classes online or in person, allowing them to have the best schedule possible without interrupting their workday or regular activities:
The following outline gives you an idea of the training program:
- DMAIC basics.

Obtaining a Yellow Belt Certificate
You must pass at least one exam to receive your Yellow Belt Certificate. You can take this exam as soon as you finish your training or several days later. We want to make sure you have all the requirements and understand the process, which is why regular standards establish a final exam, or you can take around 2 to 3 short exams during your training.
Students in high school and college have ample time to complete the process without feeling rushed. Business professionals will also benefit from the way we organize classes and set exam days.
